Peter Michaelides, CPA

Peter H. Michaelides II, CPA is the President of Sharp Point Solutions, Inc. As small business owner himself, he knows the risks, stresses, and rewards of being self-employed. Peter is passionate about helping his clients lower their total tax and ensuring that they are using the tax code for every available deduction permissible.

He is a graduate of Trinity International University with a degree in Business with a dual emphasis in Accounting and Business Management. He has over 10 years of experience in the public accounting industry. Peter began in public accounting in a local CPA practice in Northbrook, Illinois. There he gained experience with corporate structures, payroll, non-profits, auditing, reviews, compilations, individual/corporate/partnership/gift/estate taxation. From there he moved to a boutique CPA practice in Downtown Chicago, Illinois who catered to high-net-worth clients. He enhanced his expertise in investment taxation, corporate & partnership taxation, and gift taxation. He is an active member of the AICPA, AICPA Tax Advisor Section, and the Illinois CPA Society.

Peter’s area of expertise are: individual taxation and tax planning, corporate and partnership taxation, gifting, estate and trust taxation, accounting, payroll, QuickBooks, financial statements, lender requirements, corporate structuring, reasonable compensation, retirement plan determination, retirement planning, budgeting, investment analysis, non-profit accounting and IRS representation/tax resolution.

Peter has been married since 2011 to his wife Jen, they have 3 children. When Peter is not in the office you will find him spending time with his family, friends, and volunteering at his church. His favorite pass time is officiating basketball.

Jen Michaelides, CPA

Jen Michaelides, CPA is CEO of Sharp Point Solutions, Inc. Jen is passionate about helping small business owners understand their financial statements and how the accounting process works. She tirelessly works at providing her clients with the skills they need to produce accurate financial statements.

She is a graduate of Trinity International University with a degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She has over 10 years of experience in public accounting. Jen began in public accounting in a local CPA practice in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. There she gained experience in audits. From there she moved to a mid-sized firm in Glenview, Illinois where she enhanced her expertise in audit, and expanded to reviews, compilations, and corporate/partnership taxation. Jen is passionate about helping small business owners understand their financial statements and how the accounting process works. She tirelessly works at providing her clients with the skills they need to produce accurate financial statements.

Jen’s areas of expertise are: audit and assurance services, corporation/partnership taxation, accounting, QuickBooks, financial statements, lender requirements, non-profit accounting, condo associations, HOAs, retirement plans, retirement plan determination, litigation support and loan covenant compliance.

Jen has been married since 2011 to her husband Peter, they have three children. When Jen is not in the office you will find her baking something delicious and spending time with her family. Jen’s favorite past time is traveling and reading.

Yvonne Atwater

Yvonne is the Office Manager/Sr. Client Manager for Sharp Point. Her background includes bookkeeping, office management and customer relations for a myriad of companies, from Mom-and-Pop shops to well-established larger enterprises. Yvonne is proficient in many versions of QuickBooks and is well versed in creating a relationship with her clients that they find invaluable. Yvonne’s clients know that they can count on her to tend to their needs, and expertly navigate all their concerns.

Yvonne loves to share her vast knowledge with her clients. She efficiently and enthusiastically tackles any challenge that comes her way. Yvonne shines by combining competent, reliable bookkeeping with a flexible approach. Her dedication to allowing her clients to have as much—or as little—involvement in their day-to-day bookkeeping tasks as they want is what makes Yvonne invaluable.

Yvonne was born and raised in Illinois. She has also lived abroad and in Louisiana for several years. Yvonne is currently living in the McHenry area, raising her 4 children. Her passions include cheering on her children in their athletic adventures, as well as their college and post graduate careers. On the rare occasion that Yvonne has some free time, she loves the water, boating and sunshine!

Lynsey Jones

Lynsey is a Client Manager with Sharp Point. She is a DeVry University graduate and has over 20 years of accounting experience working with businesses of all sizes, from large corporations to small startup companies. For the past several years Lynsey’s passion has been helping small business owners succeed by taking over their day to day bookkeeping tasks so they can concentrate on their marketing efforts and growing their business.

Lynsey is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and is also proficient in Microsoft Great Plains. She treats her clients like she would treat a family member and her dedication to her client’s success is apparent in everything she does. Lynsey’s background includes tax preparation, payroll, sales and use tax, and complex software conversions.

Lynsey is a native of the Gurnee area and currently resides on the Illinois/Wisconsin border in Beach Park. She is a very family orientated person. When Lynsey is not working she enjoys spending time doing outdoor activities with her teenage nieces and two year old twin niece/nephew. Her favorite times of year are summer and fall. She can also be found spending her free time doing DIY projects.
